Welcome! I’m Angie. I’m a mother (chauffeur, tutor, teacher, referee, maid, judge, jury & executioner, life skills coach, master negotiator, small appliance repair person, seamstress, secretary, accountant, event planner, janitor, chef, and finder of Lost Things), wife, counselor and blogger. And this blog is for all the other moms going quietly (and sometimes not so quietly) insane as we strive the direct the chaos of our days.
After coming home from my career as a counselor to be a full-time mom, I realized that balancing parenting with a sense of humor is the most important part of motherhood. Learning to disguise pureed veggies in pasta sauce and keep the house from looking like an episode of Hoarders – while learning the difference between a play and legitimate scream from the back yard – was all a part of the long slog through parenting these past 6 years. Now that I’m in the “sweet spot” with two girls who are old enough to be reasonably independent but young enough to not be hormonal, I wanted to share some of the joys and insights I’ve gained along the way.
I’m still learning. The only constant about life is that it is always changing. From our initial steps into a more minimalist lifestyle, to gearing up for “The Talk,” to getting creative with supplemental income so that I could stay home with the kids, this journey has been (and continues to be) a fun and crazy mess.
